Khabarovsk – Pyongyang. Let Our Schoolchildren Be Friends!
It was announced during the meeting of Mayor Kravchuk and the Head of Khabarovsk Office of Democratic People's Republic of Korea Consulate General in Vladivostok Kim Jae Jeon. A class of friendship between Russia and Korea was opened in Gymnasium # 5 three years ago. The children who study there learn the language, traditions and culture of North Korea.
“It has turned out to be a good and successful experience of friendship between our cities. We’ve got a new proposal this year – let our schoolchildren be friends. Pyongyang College of Foreign Languages is ready to cooperate with Gymnasium # 5. It’s a very good pretext to exchange delegations of schoolchildren, to study the culture of our countries more thoroughly and moreover to make friendship between our countries stronger”, the Head of Khabarovsk Office of DPRK Consulate General in Vladivostok Kim Jae Jeon said.
“We are interested in the development of the cooperation with DPRK as well as in a schoolchildren exchange project. It will help to make our neighborly relationship stronger”, Mayor Kravchuk mentioned.
The mayor also invited the delegation from North Korea to visit Khabarovsk at Day of the City event at the end of May. Khabarovsk is celebrating its 161-year anniversary this year.
