Delegation from Khabarovsk Took Part in Celebrating Events Dedicated to Two International Sporting Competition in Fuyuan
Sportsmen from three countries – Russia, China and the Republic Korea – were rafting down the river on inflatable boats for a few days. 25 teams rafted 400 kilometers from Huthou to Fuyuan. The event was organized by National Water Sports Center and Heilongjiang Province government within Chinese economic strategy One Belt, One Road which has a goal to develop North-Eastern regions of China and the integration of neighboring Eurasian countries.
The prize-winning ceremony took place on June 29th. The leaders of the competition were the sportsmen from Khabarovsk Egor Aniskov and Ekaterina Popkova, Chinese teams took the second and the third places. The first stage of International Sailing Regatta Khabarovsk-Fuyuan-Khabarovsk also finished that day. It was organized by Physical Culture and Sports Department of Khabarovsk City Administration and NGO Sailing Federation. More than 20 yachts took part in the event. The first race of Russian and Chinese teams was in Fuyuan water basin. The second stage of the competition Fuyuan-Khabarovsk began on June 30th. The final stage of the race is going to be in the water basin of the Amur near Zaimka tourist complex.
Deputy Mayor of Khabarovsk Svetlana Shevchenko took part in the prize-winning ceremony for the sportsmen who took part in the rafting competition and the first Chinese stage of the Sailing Regatta. She stressed that such kind of sporting events promote good-neighbourly relations, expressed hope that they would become traditional and thanked the hosts. During the meeting with the First Secretary of the Communist Party of China in Fuyuan Mr. Zhou Hong she mentioned that the cooperation between Khabarovsk and Fuyuan has recently been developing rapidly in the following spheres: pedagogical experience exchange programs, pupils art exhibitions, festivals and concerts, different sporting competitions one of the most popular of which is a traditional Friendly Cycle Race on Ussuriysky Island. One of the future projects is in the sphere of medical tourism for elderly people in which it’s planned to open Advanced Diagnostic Centre in Fuyuan where elderly people can check their health and be given recommendations for future treatment. Teachers from the Chinese border town are going to participate in the annual Pedagogical Conference in Khabarovsk for the first time this year.
Mr. Zhou Hong in his turn expressed the intention to invite to Fuyuan “100 best citizens in Khabarovsk” .
