Vice-Mayor of Khabarovsk Met with Consul General of Vietnam in Vladivostok
Huynh Minh Chinh was appointed to the position on January 19, 2016. He knows Russian very well because he studied at Odessa State Hydrometeorological Institute. Besides the consul has got a bachelor’s and master’s degree of laws, which he got at Hanoi State University, bachelor’s degree in English, which he got at University of Languages and International Studies in Hanoi. Huynh Minh Chinh used to work as a research assistant at Institute of Oceanology in Nanchang (in Vietnam), an employee at National Border Committee of Vietnam, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Vietnam in Hague. He is now responsible for the development of the relations with the regions in the Russian Far East.
The foreign trade turnover between Khabarovsk and Vietnam was 89160 USD in 2015, the export rose 4 times comparing with 2014, on the contrary the import decreased in 2,5 times. We import chemical production and other products connected with it (mainly carbonates), plastic and goods made from it, clothes. We export to Vietnam pharmaceutical products. There are a lot of construction workers from Vietnam in Khabarovsk. Mr. Huynh Minh Chinh hadn’t expected Khabarovsk to be so beautiful. He discussed different ways of future cooperation with Valery Lebeda.
The Vietnamese party offered to supply Khabarovsk with fruits and vegetables, create a joint agricultural products and fish processing enterprise. The Vice-Mayor in his turn suggested starting the cooperation in the sphere of social and cultural exchanges. Light industry, tourism and short run production in the territories of the advanced development may be among other ways of the cooperation. Young talented teens from Vietnam may take part in the international contest New Names of Asia-Pacific Region.
