Sergei Kravchuk was born in Centralny Village, Tonkinsky District, Kemerovo Oblast, on August 27th, 1960
He finished Secondary School # 2 in Topky Village and started work at Topkinsky Mechanical Plant in 1977.
He served in border troops of the Soviet Army on Sakhalin Island from November 1978 to November 1980.
Having discharged from the army he worked at Makarovskaya Mine in Sakhalin Oblast from January 1981 to August 1987.
He entered Khabarovsk Higher Party School, which was renamed Far Eastern Socio Political Institute in 1991, in 1981 and graduated with a degree in Socio Political Relationship Theory with a qualification of “Politologist. Socio Political Subjects in Secondary Schools Teacher” in 1991.
After the graduation he worked in ZhEU # 20, ZhPET-1 of Industrial District of Khabarovsk at first as an engineer and then a section manager, a trust manager deputy.
He got an appointment of the Head of Housing Facilities Maintenance Division, Deputy Head of Housing and Communal Services and Housing Facilities Maintenance Department of Khabarovsk City Administration in October 1997.
He was appointed First Deputy Head of Zheleznodorozhny District Administration in charge of Housing and Communal Services in 2000.
He got the second diploma in 2001 after having graduated Far Eastern State Service Academy with a degree in State and Municipal Management with a qualification of a Manager.
He was appointed a Deputy Mayor, a Chairman of Yuzhny District (later renamed Industrial District) Management Committee in 2010.
He was promoted to the position of a Vice-Mayor of Khabarovsk, First Deputy Mayor in Charge of Economic Issues in 2017.
He was elected Mayor of Khabarovsk on September 9th, 2018.
He’s been decorated with Ministry of Emergency Situations of the Russian Federation Medal for Distinguished Emergency Mitigation and Medal of Merits in Holding All-Russian Population Census. He’s been awarded Certificate of Appreciation from President of the Russian Federation for the participation in the recovery operation from a large scale flooding in the Russian Far East in 2013. He’s got awards and merits form the Government of the Russian Federation, Khabarovsk Krai Governor, Khabarovsk City Mayor and Khabarovsk City Administration.He is married and has two children.
