In November 2009 Khabarovsk City Administration invited two specialists in the sphere of water resources management from Portland (USA) to take part in the 2nd Annual Ecology and Water Resource Safety Conference that took place in Far Eastern State Transport University. American and Russian specialists made speeches about the ecological safety of water resources, waste water purification and water resources management.

The delegation from the USA had a meeting with Mayor Sokolov during its stay in Khabarovsk. During the negotiations both parties expressed their hope for the continuing development of the close partnership between our cities.

The delegation was able to visit some facilities of Municipal Unitary Enterprise of Khabarovsk “Vodokanal” and discuss with the management of “Vodokanal” the ways of joint projects implementation.

There has been conducted the 22^nd meeting of the city Mayors of Siberia and Far East of the Russian Federation with western coast of Japan in Hakodate. Alexander Sokolov was the head of the Russian municipalities delegations of Blagoveshchensk, Vladivostok, Irkutsk, Nakhodka, Petropavlovsk-Kamchatski and the others cities. At the same time took a part in participation 18 heads of Japanese municipalities and Sinoda Akira the Mayor of Niigata.

The current 22^nd meeting the Mayors cities of Siberia and Far East with western coast of Japan took a place along with “Business-forum” where the Russians and the Japanese representatives were participating. There were given reports at the meeting by academic Pavel Minakir - the director of the Institute of Economic Research and Yasida Susumu is the chairmen of directors at Science Research Institute of economic in Northern East of Japan. The reports were about conditions and Russian-Japanese future perspectives of economic cooperation in the Far Eastern region.

During the meeting was mention about the Russian projects at construction of the oil-pipe line through the Pacific Ocean and gas in Far Eastern area and its realization. Preparation for forthcoming (ATS) gives some perspectives for bilateral cooperation. The next meeting of the city Mayors will be in two years in Russia.

According to the signed agreement on “Mutual city visits by pupils” between Socials problems department of Khabarovsk city administration and department of education Harbin city National Governmen, at the IV International Committee meeting of Khabarovsk and Harbin cities from the 3 till 10^th of August 2009 from Harbin city (China) to Khabarovsk city arrived the secondary school Chinese pupils delegation of Sunshan city along with a head of educational department National Government of Harbin city.

Children and adults had a good time at sanatorium-preventorium “Zeleznodoroznik”. The children was given an interesting program such as: visit to schools of Khabarovsk city, entertainment centers, city excursions.

At Khabarovsk city administration was completed a meeting of Vice-Mayor Valerie Kazachenko with medical delegation from Heilongjiang university Harbin city (China). The main purpose of this trip was to familiarize with health insurance organization in the city and work of city hospital №10. In June of 2009 year by main doctor of the Khabarovsk hospital №10 and pro-rector of the Heilongjiang university a professor Song Zhong Reng was signed protocol of intentions aimed to assist in conducting mutual science exchange and development of bilateral cooperation. The signing of the documents was conducted within International committee for collaboration inters parties of Khabarovsk and Harbin.

151 year since Khabarovsk city foundation

There were over seventieth foreign guests from Pucheon (the Republic of Korea), Harbin (China) taken a part in the festival of the 151 year since Khabarovsk city foundation.

Jiamusi (China)

On 29.05.09 official delegation Jiamusi (China) was invited by Khabarovsk city administration to participate in the festival. The objective of the meeting was about development of trade-economic relations with Jiamusi city.

The delegation visited fish-processing company “Inja”. On 31 of may 2009 year., at the intersection of Leningradskaya and Sinelnikova streets in Khabarovsk city was ceremonial opening of “Friendship ties” square. The square symbolizing relationship between Khabarovsk people and Jiamusi. This present of Public Government of Jiamusi city is an honor to 151 year since Khabarovsk city foundation.

Official delegations from Pucheon city (the Republic of Korea)

Mayor of Khabarovsk city Alexander Sokolov welcomed official delegations from Pucheon city, the meeting has been held in Khabarovsk city administration. The delegations arrived to celebrate 151 year anniversary of krai center, where took place a signing of agreement about cooperation in medicine. Current agreement was signed by chief doctor Vera Uhno of hospital № 10 and honorary president of Korean clinic “Sejong”. The most meaningful tendencies of sister-cities relationship between Khabarovsk and Pucheon cities is: medical treatment of Khabarovsk children, probation period for studying in medical technologies, science research, ambulatory treatment.

Creative delegation

Sister-cities creative delegations from Pucheon and Harbin took a part in theatrical parade and performance at ODORA hall, it's been dedicated to 151 year since Khabarovsk city foundation and on the 30th of May the delegations from sister-cities and Khabarovsk artists appeared on Lenin square stage with performance in front of Khabarovsk city citizens.
